Wayanad is the border region of Kerala's greener half and a verdant paradise. Wayanad, which located nearby Calicut and the city of Zamorins, is very different from Kerala's agricultural and industrial hubs. It is a tranquil location where natural beauty, wildlife, and tradition are important. Simplicity is a virtue, and beauty still emanates from the horizon of the mountains and the lush canopy of seductive vegetation. The history and mystery, culture, and social epistemology of this region are yet to be uncovered. It is pure and beautiful, charming and mesmerising. This station is surrounded by plantations, forests, and wildlife and is situated in the Western Ghats approximately 76 kilometres from Calicut's seashores. Wayanad hills are contiguous to Mudumalai in Tamil Nadu and Bandhipur in Karnataka, thus forming a vast land mass for the wild life to move about in its most natural abode.
The Pookode Lake, which is encircled by vegetation on all sides, is situated 3 kilometres from the town of Vythiri.
